This PFAS course is an advanced-level course on the design of PFAS Drinking Water Treatment. GAC and ion-exchange processes will be covered using freely available models.

Anion exchange is a relatively new drinking water treatment process gaining importance due to its effectiveness and reliability in PFAS DWT processes. Although it is very effective in a short contact time, it can significantly change the chlorination process and deteriorate the distribution water quality in terms of pH, alkalinity, and corrosion capability.

Ozone is a strong disinfectant ( e.g. Cryptosporidium) and oxidant (e.g. taste and odour-causing compounds). Ozone improves the taste of the treated water. This course covers most of the process design aspects of an Ozone System.
